The' Mountain Sound Speaker' is a wireless Bluetooth speaker, inspired by the music made by the Indie Folk band Of Monsters and Men. Taking inspiration from the imaginative, metaphorical connotations in this music, the form echoes that of a mountain scene. This metaphorical style has influenced the ‘landscape’ of the speaker by embracing imperfections and enhancing the layers and depth in the imagination.

Focusing on the look of a broody mountainous landscape, the layers, fissures and crevasses in this design are seamlessly crafted through 3D printing processes for the base and hand crafted techniques to gain the outer rugged effect, complemented with the speckled fabric. The essence of a mountain sound is replicated through the arch that changes the sound like a channel. The clarity of the music varies through the rotation of the speaker from a loud, direct sound to a more muted and hollow sounding piece.
